Exemplaire sur un flan ovale, légèrement décentré sur la légende au revers. Très beau portrait. Frappe molle au revers. Patine grise avec des reflets métalliques dorés

Obverse description : Buste radié et cuirassé de Probus à droite avec pan de paludamentum, vu de trois quarts en avant (B01).
Obverse translation : “Imperator Cæsar Probus Pius Felix Augustus”, (L'empereur césar Probus pieux et heureux auguste).

Reverse


Reverse legend : PIAETAS AVG/ -|-// III.
Reverse description : Pietas (la Piété) voilée et drapée debout à gauche, tenant une boite à encens (acerra) de la main gauche et de la droite, une patère, sacrifiant au-dessus d'un autel allumé.
Reverse translation : “Piætas Augusti”, (La Piété de l’auguste).

Avec l’intégralité de son argenture superficielle. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Cuirasse et épaulière cloutées. Ptéryges fines et tombantes. Légende ponctuée au droit. Début de cassure de coin perceptible dans la légende au revers.

(06-07/276-09/282) Marcus Aurelius Probus

Probus was born August 19 232 Sirmium. He leads a distinguished military career in the reigns between Valerian I and Tacitus.
