Exemplaire sur un flan ovale parfaitement centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis visibles. Beau portrait consulaire de Probus. Revers tout à fait extraordinaire et inhabituel. Patine gris foncé avec des reflets métalliques

Obverse translation : "Imperator Cæsar Marcus Aurelius Probus Augustus", (L’empereur césar Marc Aurèle Probus auguste).

Reverse legend : ADVENT-VS PROBI AVG/-|-// XXITA.
Reverse description : Probus à cheval au pas à droite, levant l’antérieur droit, vêtu militairement, levant la main droite, tenant un haste transversale de la main gauche pointant vers le bas.
Reverse translation : “Adventus Probi Augusti”, (L’arrivée de Probus l’auguste).

Commentary


Poids léger. Avec l’intégralité de son argenture superficielle. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Buste consulaire richement décoré avec la toga picta et la toga palmata. Semble complètement inédit et non répertorié. Manque à tous les ouvrages consultés. De la plus grande rareté.

(06-07/276-09/282) Marcus Aurelius Probus

Probus was born August 19 232 Sirmium. He leads a distinguished military career in the reigns between Valerian I and Tacitus. He was commander of the Eastern Army in the death of Tacitus, immediately proclaimed emperor and triumphs easily Florien is murdered. This is serious.
