Commentary

Le droit et le revers de cette médaille se retrouvent en association avec d’autres carrés (Van Hende n° 539 et 548). Cette médaille est datée de 1708, mais les prises de Bruges et de Gand réalisées au mois de janvier 1709, montre qu’elle est antidatée.
The obverse and reverse of this medal are found in association with other squares (Van Hende no. 539 and 548). This medal is dated 1708, but the captures of Bruges and Ghent in January 1709 show that it is antedated.
