PRINCIPALITY OF CRETE - PRINCE GEORGE

(1898-1906)

Georges of Greece (1869-1957) is the second son of Georges I of Greece (1845-1913). Following the Greco-Turkish war, Crete obtained its autonomy. Prince George became despot of Crete until 1906. Crete was definitively attached to Greece after the second Balkan war in 1913.
