Flan un peu court. Beau portrait. Patine gris vert. Joli revers avec des faiblesses de frappe sur la légende et au centre du revers

Obverse translation : “Imperator Cæsar Marcus Cassius Latinius Postumus Pius Felix Augustus”, (L'empereur césar Marcus Cassius Latinius Postume pieux heureux auguste).

Reverse legend : VICT[OR-I]A AVG// SC.
Reverse description : Victoria (la Victoire) drapée marchant à gauche, brandissant une couronne de la main droite et tenant une palme de la main gauche ; devant elle, à ses pieds, un captif, les mains liées dans le dos.

Postume seizes the purple by eliminating Salonin, son of Gallien, of whom he had custody. He reigns over Gaul, Brittany and Spain. Did Postume toy with the idea of conquering the Roman Empire? Gallien, twice, will try to reconquer the "pars occidentalis" of the Empire, without success. Postume will remain in power for nine years, before perishing assassinated for having refused the sack of Mainz, a city which supported Lélien.
