Exemplaire idéalement centré sur un petit flan ovale. Joli portrait et très beau revers malgré une tache dans le champ à droite. Fine patine grise

Reverse legend : SALVS POS-TVMI AVG.
Reverse description : Salus (la Santé) drapée, debout de face, regardant à droite, tenant un serpent de la main droite qu’elle nourrit à l’aide d’une patère de la main gauche.
Reverse translation : “Salus Postumi Augusti”, (La Santé de Postume auguste).

POSTUMUS

Postume seizes the purple by eliminating Salonin, son of Gallien, of whom he had custody. He reigns over Gaul, Brittany and Spain. Did Postume toy with the idea of conquering the Roman Empire? Gallien, twice, will try to reconquer the "pars occidentalis" of the Empire, without success. Postume will remain in power for nine years, before perishing assassinated for having refused the sack of Mainz, a city which supported Lélien.
