Reverse legend : SALVS PROVINCIARVM.
Reverse description : Divinité fluviale barbue et non cornue, nue jusqu’à la ceinture (le Rhin), couchée à gauche, appuyée sur un rocher, tenant un sceptre ou un roseau de la main gauche ; devant, une proue de galère.
Reverse translation : “Salus Provinciarum”, (La Santé des provinces).
Commentary
Poids très léger. Portrait 2. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bifides. Ptéryges à peine visibles sous le paludamentum. Ce type (Rhin non cornu, légende courte au droit) n’est pas le plus rare de la série selon les divers ouvrages spécialisés mais ce n’est pourtant que la seconde fois que nous le proposons à la vente !.
