Coments on the condition:
Exemplaire sur un flan épais, large et régulier. Très beau portrait de haut relief, bien venu à la frappe. Joli revers de style fin, mais de frappe un peu molle sur la légende. Patine grise avec des reflets dorés

Reverse description : Jupiter debout à gauche, détournant la tête à droite, le manteau flottant sur l'épaule droite, brandissant un foudre de la main droite et tenant un aigle de la main gauche tendue.
Reverse translation : “Iovi Propugnatori”, (À Jupiter le Protecteur).
Commentary
Poids très lourd. Rubans de type 3. Ptéryges invisibles sous le paludamentum.

Postume seizes the purple by eliminating Salonin, son of Gallien, of whom he had custody. He reigns over Gaul, Brittany and Spain. Did Postume toy with the idea of conquering the Roman Empire? Gallien, twice, will try to reconquer the "pars occidentalis" of the Empire, without success. Postume will remain in power for nine years, before perishing assassinated for having refused the sack of Mainz, a city which supported Lélien.
