Monnaie remarquablement bien conservée et sans trace apparente de circulation. Le seul défaut tient à une petite tache verte placée à 10 heures dans le champ du revers. Très haut relief. Flan large

PORTUGAL - KINGDOM OF PORTUGAL - FERDINAND I

(1367-1383)

Ferdinand I was born in 1345 from the union of Peter I, King of Portugal, and Constance, daughter of Jean Emmanuel de Peñafiel. In 1367, he became King of Portugal on the death of his father and in 1371 married Éléonore, daughter of Martin Alphonse Telles de Menesses. From their union was born in 1372, an only daughter, Beatrice, who married the King of Castile John I. Ferdinand I died that same year leaving the throne of Portugal to the House of Aviz since he had no male heir. His widow, Éléonore, died in 1386.
