Bento de Gois(1562-1607) est un frère jésuite né aux Açores. partir de Goa, il rejoint l’Afghanistan et suit la Route de la Soie jusqu’au SinKiang aux portes de la Chine. Malade, il n’atteindra Pékin et meurt dans l’actuelle ville de Jiuquan.
Bento de Gois (1562-1607) was a Jesuit friar born in the Azores. From Goa, he traveled to Afghanistan and followed the Silk Road to Sin Kiang, at the gates of China. Ill, he never reached Beijing and died in the present-day city of Jiuquan.
