6ème pièce de 2,50 Euro circulante du Portugal après les 2,50 Euro Jeux Olympiques de Pékin, O’Fado, Porto, Haut-Douro et monastère de JERÓNIMOS. Pièce commémorative circulante issue de la série Patrimoine mondial de l’humanité-Unesco.
Comme le monastère de JERÓNIMOS, la tour de Belem est situé à l’entrée du port de Lisbonne et en constituait la citadelle défensive. Initiée par le roi Manuel Ier elle symbolise l’âge d’or des grandes explorations portugaises.
Le site est classé au Patrimoine mondial de l’Unesco depuis 1983.

Circulating commemorative coin from the UNESCO World Heritage series. Like the JERÓNIMOS Monastery, the Belém Tower is located at the entrance to the port of Lisbon and was its defensive citadel. Initiated by King Manuel I, it symbolizes the golden age of the great Portuguese explorations. The site has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983.
