Exemplaire sur un petit flan épais et ovale, bien centré des deux côtés avec un plat de frappe perceptible des deux côtés. Très beau portrait de Zeus. Joli revers de style fin. Belle patine vert foncé

PONTUS - PHARNACIA

(2nd - 1st century BC)

The city was founded by Pharnaces I (185-149 AC.), king of Pontus, grandfather of Mithridates VI Eupator, around 180 BC on the site of ancient Cerasus. It was a fortified coastal town. It loses its importance at the time of the Roman conquest.
