Commentary


Le Dragon est un croiseur léger construit en 1917 à Glasgow. Il sert dans la Royal Navy avant d’être cédé à la Marine Libre Polonaise. Il participe aux bombardements côtiers en Normandie. Touché par une torpille allemande, il est finalement coulé afin de permettre l’installation du port Mulberry B face à Arromanches.
Cette monnaie fait partie d’une série consacrée à la Marine Polonaise.
The Dragon is a light cruiser built in 1917 in Glasgow. It served in the Royal Navy before being transferred to the Polish Free Navy. It took part in coastal bombardments in Normandy. Hit by a German torpedo, it was finally cast to allow the installation of the Mulberry B port opposite Arromanches. This coin is part of a series dedicated to the Polish Navy
