Cette monnaie commémore le 30e anniversaire des événements d’août 1980. Les premières grèves ouvrières éclatent en juillet. Au mois d’août, les chantiers navals de Gdansk se mettent en grève. Le 31 août le syndicat indépendant Solidarnosc (Solidarité) est officiellement créé. Cette brève démocratisation du régime communiste sera suivie par un nouveau durcissement qui aboutira par la déclaration de l’état de siège fin 1981.
This coin commemorates the 30th anniversary of the events of August 1980. The first workers' strikes broke out in July. In August, the Gdansk shipyards went on strike. On August 31, the independent trade union Solidarnosc (Solidarity) was officially created. This brief democratization of the communist regime was followed by a further hardening of the regime, culminating in the declaration of a state of siege at the end of 1981.
