Commentary


Ce type est fabriqué entre 1834 et 1840. Suivant les ouvrages, il est considéré comme un monnayage polonais ou russe. Le zloty vaut 15 kopecks. Dans cette série il existe un monnayage complet avec sept coupures, six en argent et une en or : zlote/15 kopecks, 40 groszy/20 kopecks, 50 groszy/25 kopecks, 2 zloty/30 kopecks, 5 zloty/ 3/4 rouble, 10 zloty/ 1 1/2 roubles, 20 zloty/3 roubles.

POLAND - KINGDOM OF POLAND - NICHOLAS I

(1/12/1825-2/03/1855)

Nicolas I (7/07/1796-2/03/1855) is the second son of Paul I and the brother of Alexander I and the Grand Duke Constantin. On the death of his brother Alexander I, on December 1, 1825, and after the renunciation of his brother Constantine, he became Tsar of all the Russias and began by suppressing the liberal movement of the Decembrists. He put down the uprising in Poland in 1831. After promoting the liberation of Greece, he posed as a defender of the Slavs and opposed the Turks. He found on his way the English and the French. He died before the defeat of the Crimean War.
