Commentary


Rubans de type 3. Seulement deux exemplaires recensés dans la Sylloge Aulock (5364-5365, pl. 178, autres coins) sur un très grand flan. Ces médaillons ou multiples frappés sous les Sévères de grand modules sont beaucoup plus rares que les mêmes types sur des modules de diamètre inférieur, frappés après Alexandre Sévère. Au droit frappé avec un coin bouché dans la chevelure.

PISIDIA - TERMESSUS

(2nd - 3rd century AD)

An important city on the southwest coast of Pisidia, located at the entrance to the Taurus Mountains, Termessos controlled a large territory extending to the north of Lycia. The city fell under Roman domination in 71 BC. The city had an important colonial coinage under the Antonines and the Sévères which is characterized by an autonomous coinage.
