Historical background

Pictones / Bituriges / Carnutes - CENTRAL WEST, Uncertain

(Second - first century BC)

Many heavy drachmas, the rider or bunk horses are difficult to classify. These early coins are from the edge of Berry and Touraine, often attributed to Pictones or Bituriges. If the type does not determine an allocation to a particular people, the distribution of findings is hardly more accurate and the results of their analysis are finally metal rather disappointing.
