Obverse description : Tête à droite, la chevelure formée de petits traits et de petites esses juxtaposées, avec une grosse esse au niveau de l'oreille.

Reverse description : Cavalier tenant un bouclier et les rênes galopant à droite ; sous le cheval, une main ; grènetis.

Commentary

Ce type de drachme, avec cette coiffure, est très rare ; trois ou quatre exemplaires sont conservés à la BN, un à Nantes et un à Rouen. Le Nouvel Atlas défend fort justement le travail de D. Nash sur ces séries ; cette drachme correspond à la classe I “tête à la coiffure classique et revers à la main”.
This type of drachma, with this hairstyle, is very rare; three or four examples are preserved at the BN, one in Nantes and one in Rouen. The Nouvel Atlas rightly defends the work of D. Nash on these series; this drachma corresponds to class I “head with classic hairstyle and hand reverse”
