Flan un peu court mais frappe centrée avec un revers presque complet mais un avers avec le visage en bord de flan. Patine grise, avec des zones de concrétions plus sombres

Obverse description : Petite tête à droite, entourée de cordons perlés, la chevelure stylisée en “mèches aquitaniques”.

Reverse description : Cheval androcéphale galopant à droite conduit par un aurige étendant la main droite ; entre les pattes du cheval, hippophore.

Commentary


Cette drachme correspond aux monnaies DT. S 3677 de la série de “dérivés à l’hippophore en argent (Santo-Pictones)”. Les auteurs précisent qu’au revers, l’image complète de l’hippophore, dont la tête est tournée à droite, apparait avec une grande netteté.
Cette monnaie proviendrait de “Charente-Maritime, sans autre précision”.
