PICARDY - COUNTY OF PONTHIEU - JEAN DE NESLE AND JEANNE DE PONTHIEU

(1251-1279)

In 1221, on the death of William III, coinage was interrupted in Ponthieu for more than 50 years. By inheritance, the county passed into the family of Dammartin. Edward I succeeded Jean de Nesle in 1279.
