En 1935, est créé le commonwealth des Philipines sous contrôle américain avec une indépendance prévue en 1946. Suite à l’invasion et l’occupation japonaise entre 1941 et 1945, l’indépendance ne sera déclarée qu’en 1946.
In 1935, the Commonwealth of the Philippines was created under American control with independence planned for 1946. Following the Japanese invasion and occupation between 1941 and 1945, independence was not declared until 1946.
