Exemplaire de qualité exceptionnelle sur un flan large, centré des deux côtés. Revers fantastique, bien venu à la frappe. Patine grise avec de légers reflets dorés

Obverse description : Buste radié et drapé de Philippe II césar à droite vu de trois quarts en arrière (A21).
Obverse translation : “Marcus Iulius Philippus Cæsar”, (Marc Jules Philippe césar).

Reverse legend : PRINCIPI I-VVENT.
Reverse description : Philippe II, vêtu militairement debout à gauche, tenant un globe de la main droite et une haste renversée de la main gauche.

Augustus
Philip II, son of Philip the Arab and Otacilia Severa, was named Augustus in 247. He participated in the commemoration of the millennium of Rome which began on April 21, 247. Philip, his father, was killed at the battle of Verona . Philip II was assassinated shortly thereafter. We do not know what happened to Otacilia Sévéra. Philip II was made Caesar shortly after the accession of his father who awarded him the title of prince of youth.
