Following the Muslims, European medieval pharmacy was enriched by chemical research. The common doctrine considered that diseases constituted morbid essences and that remedies acted as antidote. Then, Bonaparte organized the first three national schools of pharmacy in Paris, Montpellier and Strasbourg.
