Commentary

Robert Levi (1895-1981) ancien polytechnicien et ancien élève des Ponts-et-Chaussées, il sera dans les réseaux du chemin de fer puis de la SNCF d’où il sera exclu en 1940. Il passera alors en France libre puis en Algérie où il a la charge de la direction des Transports après le débarquement allié. Après la guerre, il occupera des fonctions de direction à la SNCF jusqu’en 1960 et y promeut des procédés nouveaux.
Robert Levi (1895-1981) a former polytechnician and former student of the Ponts-et-Chaussées, he was in the railway networks then of the SNCF from which he was excluded in 1940. He then went to Free France then to Algeria where he was in charge of the Transport department after the Allied landings. After the war, he held management positions at the SNCF until 1960 and promoted new processes there.
