Commentary
Ce jeton est émis pour les propriétés d’Henry Swayne. Henry Swayne (1800-1877) était une homme d’affaire écossais. En 1824, il s’établit au Pérou pour représenter une société de Liverpool. Rapidement, il investit dans des haciendas en déshérence qu’il met valeur en utilisation des tchniques modernes et en faisant venir des techniciens étrangers et des ouvriers chinois. Il y devient un homme d’affaire de première importance. Dans la ville de Cañete dans la province de Lima, il possède quatre exploitations spécialisées dans le coton et la canne à sucre reliées entre elles par un système de tramway.
