La plupart des tétradrachmes de Patraos viennent du trésor péonien découvert en 1968 (IGCH. 410) et qui contenait 68 pièces d’or et 1900 pièces d’argent dont 1.700 à 1.800 tétradrachmes de Patraos. Le trésor aurait été enfoui entre 315 et 310 avant J.-C. Ce trésor fut dispersé par Sotheby’s en 1969 au cours de deux ventes restées célèbres. Pour la Péonie, outre Patraos, il y avait 13 tétradrachmes de Lycceios (356-335 AC.) et 34 tétradrachmes d’imitation de Patraos.

The kingdom of Paeonia gained independence after the death of Perdiccas III, king of Macedonia in 359 BC Before the bellicosity of Philip II of Macedonia, Lykkeios and its successor, Patraos (340 (359 to 340 AC.) - 315 AC.) were turbulent neighbors. After the death of Audoléon (315-286 AC)., Paeonia was held in Macedonia.
