La fabrication du ducat d'or a débuté pour l'atelier de Dordrecht en 1586 et s'arrête en 1791. Au XVIIIe siècle, le ducat est frappé de 1736 à 1784.

On January 23, 1579, the five provinces of Holland, Zeeland, Utrecht, Gelderland and Friesland United Provinces formed a federal state during the Union of Utrecht.
