Obverse legend : ANÉPIGRAPHE.

Obverse description : Buste de Tiridates à gauche, tête nue avec un bandeau triple, sans nœud qui tombe derrière la tête, la chevelure crantée couvrant l’oreille, la barbe courte et pointue.

Reverse

Reverse description : Tiridates assis à gauche sur un trône à dossier, tenant un arc de la main droite et un sceptre de la main gauche.

Poids léger. Avec l’intégralité de son argenture superficielle. Notre exemplaire est précisément daté d’un mois d’avril (Artemisiou) mais sans date (ère arsacide). L’ère parthe commençait en 312 avant J.-C., reposant sur l’ère séleucide et la dédicace de Séleucie du Tigre par son fondateur, Séleucus Nicator. Le début de l’année parthe était fixé au mois d’octobre (Dios) et basé sur un calendrier lunaire avec un mois intercalaire.
Lightweight. With all its surface silvering. Our example is precisely dated to a month of April (Artemisiou) but without a date (Arsacid era). The Parthian era began in 312 BC, based on the Seleucid era and the dedication of Seleucia on the Tigris by its founder, Seleucus Nicator. The beginning of the Parthian year was fixed in the month of October (Dios) and based on a lunar calendar with an intercalary month.
