Coments on the condition:
Agréable monnaie sur un flan relativement large et régulier. Les types sont complets et assez bien venus, mais de frappe faible et avec une cassure de coin ou une usure marquée sur le visage, en continuité entre l'œil et la chevelure. Revers assez homogène. La monnaie semble avoir été astiquée anciennement, avec une très légère patine

Commentary
Ce statère a été frappé avec les coins D2 et R5, de la classification établie par J.-B. Colbert de Beaulieu lors de son étude du monnayage des Parisii. Les pièces n° 1 à 13 du trésor de Puteaux ont été frappées avec les mêmes coins de droit et de revers.
A noter que si le coin de droit D2 es associé à d’autres coins de revers, le coin de revers R5 n’est quant à lui associé qu’à ce droit !.
This stater was struck with the D2 and R5 dies, from the classification established by J.-B. Colbert de Beaulieu during his study of the coinage of the Parisii. Coins nos. 1 to 13 of the Puteaux treasure were struck with the same obverse and reverse dies. Note that while the obverse die D2 is associated with other reverse dies, the reverse die R5 is associated only with this obverse!

The Parisii were a small but powerful people whose oppidum was Lutèce. Related to the Sénons, the Parisii and the city would have emancipated themselves from their tutelage, relatively late, after the Arverne defeat of 121 BC. The wealth of the Parisii rested on the river control of the Seine and the confluences with the Marne, Bièvre, Ourcq and Oise. César chooses Lutèce, in 53 before J. - C. to convene the assembly of the Gallic peoples. The Parisii were among the first to answer the call of Vercingetorix, the following year, in 52 BC, and they provided a contingent of eight thousand men for the relief army. Watched over by Labienus, friend and legate of Caesar, the territory of the Parisii was the scene of the last battles between Gauls and Romans. Eventually, the Aulercan chief Camulogenes was defeated and killed near Lutetia. Caesar (BG. VI, 3; VII, 4, 34, 57, 75). Kruta: 36, 40 46, 68, 365, 368.
