Aspendos, located 12 kilometers from the summit of the Eurymedon was a great business location and had a large port on the coast. Aspendos remained loyal to the Persians until the arrival of Alexander the Great and resisted him before being taken in 333 BC Aspendos belonged to the kingdom of Pergamum between 189 and 133 BC.
