Commentary
Ce triens correspond exactement au B. 2924, avec les légendes METIS CIVETATI au droit et + ANSOALDVS MONE au revers. Le manteau au droit est orné d’une étoile alors que les monnaies B. 2925 à 2930 et 6278 ont un manteau orné de quadrillage.
L’exemplaire bmv_384873, comparable à notre monnaie, mais avec la lettre T avant le nom du monétaire, a été vendu 2400€ en boutique malgré un coup sur l’avers.

The mantle on the obverse is decorated with a star while coins B. 2925 to 2930 and 6278 have a mantle decorated with grid. The coinage of Metz is quite rich and the triens bear an epigraphy which makes it easy to follow the succession of the Merovingian kings in this city. Many monetary also left their name on the gold coinage. The silver coinage is much less rich in epigraphy and is limited to types with a few initial letters.
