Bronze sur un flan un peu court et irrégulier, mais avec des types correctement centrés, de frappe un peu molle ou usés. Patine grise et poreuse, avec une concrétion verte sur la tête

Obverse legend : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Obverse description : Tête à gauche, les cheveux entourés d'un cordon perlé, une sorte d'épi accosté d'un annelet devant le visage, une esse derrière la nuque, trois petits annelets autour du cou, grènetis.
Reverse
Reverse legend : VIIRICIVS.
Reverse description : Cheval libre galopant à gauche, un annelet au-dessus de la croupe, légende au-dessus ; un gros annelet centré surmonté d’un petit annelet sous le cheval, un autre petit annelet entre les pattes avant.
Commentary
La classe I est bien reconnaissable avec la tête à gauche et l’épi devant le visage, tenu par un annelet et un cordon perlé qui rejoint la nuque. Le revers n’a pas l’ancre des autres classes, mais un gros globule dans un annelet perlée (ou une sorte de rouelle) entre les jambes.
Cet exemplaire est assez bien venu au niveau du droit. Au revers ce bronze a une belle rouelle sous le cheval.
Ce bronze est issu des mêmes coins que le précédent, bga_241359.
Class I is easily recognizable with the head on the left and the ear in front of the face, held by a ringlet and a beaded cord that joins the nape of the neck. The reverse does not have the anchor of the other classes, but a large globule in a beaded ringlet (or a sort of wheel) between the legs. This example is quite well-preserved on the right. On the reverse this bronze has a beautiful wheel under the horse. This bronze comes from the same dies as the previous one, bga_241359

GALLIA BELGICA PAGUS CATUSLUGI - Sanctuary of BOIS L'ABBÉ (Seine-Maritime)

Already in 1977, S. Scheers evoked the idea of a coinage of Pagus for the type VIIRICIVS (op. cit.p.129-130) which recalls the finds of the sanctuary of Bois l'Abbé in Eu (Seine-Maritime) (LPD. p.32-45) where 161 pieces of the 4 classes were discovered and analyzed. These coins, found in large quantities, doubtless constituted cash with a regional vocation (LPD. 1984, p. 65-92). A plaque found on the spot in 1965, near the theater evokes a pagus Catuslugi already mentioned by Pliny (HN. IV, 31).
