Exemplaire sur un flan large, parfaitement centré de part et d’autre. Magnifique portrait d’Otacilia et revers de style fin. La monnaie conserve une partie de son argenture et est couverte d’une patine homogène

Obverse description : Buste drapé et diadémé d’Otacilia Sévéra à droite, les cheveux remontés en tresse sur la tête, posé sur un croissant de lune, vu de trois quarts en avant (L15).

Wife of Philip I, mother of Philip II - Augusta (244-249)

Otacilie, daughter of Severus, governor of Pannonia, married to Philip 234. Philippe II, their son, was born about 237. She seems to have had sympathies for Christians and they benefited relative safety during the reign of Philip before the great persecution of Trajan Decius. We do not know his fate after the death of her husband and son, she was murdered or she retired to private life, she disappears from history.
