Commentary
This token must have been ordered by Paparel, Treasurer of the Wars, for the service of the considerable number of military employees responsible for his accounting. We find few French-made tokens under his service but many German tokens. The entry of German tokens was prohibited in France at the time but Paparel apparently authorized fraud for these tokens which were considered banal.
