Obverse legend : IMP. CAESAR DIVI. F. III. VIR. ITER. [R. P. C.].
Obverse description : Tête nue d'Octave à droite, légèrement barbu (O°).
Obverse translation : “Imperator Cæsar Divi Filius Triumvir Iterum Rei Publicæ Constituandæ”, (Imperator Octave fils du divin Jules, triumvir pour la seconde fois pour la restauration de la République).


Reverse description : Temple tétrastyle du divin Jules avec le fronton triangulaire orné d’un astre (sidus Iulium) et inscription dans l’architrave.
Reverse translation : “Consul Iterum et Tertium Designatus/ Divo Iulio”, (Consul pour la seconde fois désigné pour la troisième fois/ au divin Jules).

(63 BC - 27 BC) Caius Julius Cæsar Octavianus

Octave, born September 23, 63 BC to Thurium, was adopted by his uncle, Julius Caesar, in 45 BC After Caesar's death, he formed the second Triumvirate with Mark Antony and Lepidus and was one of the architects of proscriptions which cost the lives of Cicero in 43 BC In 42 BC, Brutus and Cassius were defeated at Philippi, where they committed suicide. After the naval battle of Actium (31 BC) and the conquest of Egypt the following year, Octavian in Rome celebrated a triple triumph (13-15 August 29 BC). That year was held the dedication of the temple of Julius Caesar.
