Très bel exemplaire sur un flan large,ovale et épais avec les grènetis visibles. Magnifique buste de Numérien auguste. Frappe molle au revers. Patine grise avec des reflets métalliques. Conserve au droit la plus grande partie de son brillant de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

Obverse description : Buste radié et cuirassé de Numérien auguste à droite, avec pan de paludamentum, vu de trois quarts en avant (B01).
Obverse translation : “Imperator Cæsar Numerianus Augustus”, (L’empereur césar Numérien auguste).

Reverse


Reverse legend : PIETAS AVGG/ B|-// LVG.
Reverse description : Pietas (la Piété), drapée debout à droite devant un autel, tenant un globe de la main gauche et étendant la main droite.
Reverse translation : “Pietas Augustorum” (La Piété des augustes).

Commentary


Poids très lourd. Avec l’intégralité de son argenture superficielle. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Épaulière cloutée. Ptéryges fines. Cuirasse formée d’écailles. Même coin de droit que l’exemplaire de droit que l’exemplaire de la collection Trau, (Bastien 580b, pl. LIX). Mêmes coins de revers que les exemplaires Bastien 580 a et c, pl. LIX. Nous avons trois coins de droit et deux coins de revers pour dix exemplaires.
