Commentary

Il s’agit de l’exemplaire vendu lors de la vente Live de Septembre 2020. Cet essai est identique au lot n°1492 proposé dans la vente MONNAIES 30 - Collection Pierre du 17 avril 2007. Alors, l’existence de ce revers de Georges Guiraud inédit posait de nombreuses questions. La découverte de ce nouvel exemplaire confirmait qu’il a été frappé plusieurs exemplaires même si leur nombre semble extrêmement réduit.
This is the example sold during the Live sale in September 2020. This trial strike is identical to lot no. 1492 offered in the MONNAIES 30 - Collection Pierre sale of April 17, 2007. The existence of this previously unknown Georges Guiraud reverse raised many questions. The discovery of this new example confirmed that several examples were struck, even if their number appears extremely small.
