Commentary

Les orphéons apparurent en France suite à la loi de 1832 sur l'instruction primaire, dans le cadre de l'apprentissage du chant Ils s'adjoignirent rapidement des adultes, recrutés plutôt dans les milieux ouvriers et eurent un immense succès.
