NERVA

(09/18/96 to 01/25/98) Marcus Cocceius Nerva

The reign of Nerva, born in 32, was a time of transition. It traditionally marks the end of the Twelve Caesars by Suetonius and is the junction with the Antonine dynasty emperors or co-opted. Nerva was consul in 71 and 90, he took his third consulship in 97. Old, took with him Nerva Trajan in adopting. The latter succeeded him in January 98.
