Commentary

Only one coin is referenced for Mougon; the 390 of the BN, taken from the Belfort. It is the only coin found and studied in the Moneta. In bronze, our coin could be a fake from the formerly gilded period, a bronze struck with a die reserved for gold or even a die proof. The reverse seems to have been leveled without us being able to suggest any reasons. Our example is cleaner and more complete than that of the BN as far as the obverse is concerned. The reverse suggests another type; the upper part presumes an anchored cross
