Ce tremissis est frappé sur un flan large et irrégulier, légèrement voilé. Reliefs nets. De petits éclatements et une petite rayure derrière la victoire

Obverse description : Buste diadèmé, drapé et cuirassé de Justin II à droite vu de trois quarts en avant.

Obverse translation : “Dominus Noster Iustinus Perpetuus Augustus”, (Notre seigneur Justin perpétuel auguste).

Reverse legend : VICTORIA AVGVSTORVM// -|*// CONOR.

Reverse description : Victoire debout de face, tournée à gauche, tenant une couronne de la main droite, une croix au-dessus de la main gauche, au-dessous une étoile à cinq rais.

Reverse translation : “Victoria Augustorum”, (La Victoire des augusutes).

Commentary

Ce type monétaire s’inspire des monnaies de Justin II (565-578) de l’atelier de Constantinople. Le globe crucigère tenu par la victoire est réduit à une simple croix .
