(1949-2005)

Rainier III (1921-2005) succeeded his grandfather Louis II on November 9, 1949. In 1956, he married the American actress Grace Kelly who became Princess Grace (who died in 1982). Under his reign, the Principality was modernized. His son Albert II succeeds him.
