Commentary


La compagnie des Salines de l’Est est la privatisation des salines royales d’Arc et Senan. La rentabilité des Salines s’effondrera avec l’arrivée du chemin de fer et donc du sel marin transporté à un prix de plus en plus bas.
La société n’a pas laissé localement un très bon souvenir s’étant opposée violemment (dynamitage de certains bâtiments) au classement de l’ensemble architectural comme monument historique protégé en 1926. Aujourd’hui le site fait partie du patrimoine mondial de l’Unesco.

MINES AND FORGED

Numismatics mine has been the subject of a study by Jules Florange in 1904. The latter identified the numismatic material on mines medals, attendance, fees or need fiat currencies, tokens superintendents of mines. Another work, remarkable is the work of the Association of Token Collectors Coin 1999.
