Exemplaire sur un flan ovale bien centré à l’usure très importante, mais identifiable. Patine noire granuleuse

Obverse legend : IC - XC.
Obverse description : Buste nimbé du Christ de face, vêtu du pallium et du colobium, bénissant de la main droite et tenant les Évangiles de la main gauche ; de chaque côté, une étoile à six rais.
Obverse translation : (Jésus Christ).
Reverse
Reverse legend : MIX[AHA] - RACIA O.
Reverse description : Buste couronné avec pendilia de Michel VII, vêtu du loros, tenant le labarum croisété de la main droite et le globe crucigère de la main gauche.
Commentary
Poids très léger. Normalement ce type est surfrappé sur des folles de Romain IV (1068-1071) (BC. 1866).

Historical background
MICHAEL VII DUKAS
(24/10/1071-24/03/1078)
Michael succeeded Roman IV when the latter, liberated by the Turks and returning to Constantinople, was blinded and died of his wound. Part of Asia Minor was lost, Sicily was invaded by the Normans and a sedition broke out in the Balkans. Michael was overthrown by a plot in 1078. Deposed, he retired to a monastery.
