En 2010, le Mexique fête le bicentenaire de l’indépendance (16 septembre 1810) et le centenaire de la Révolution de 1910.
A cette occasion, la Casa de Moneda de Mexico frappe une série de monnaie bimétallique de 5 Pesos à l’effigie de ses grands hommes.
Ignacio José de Allende y Unzaga (1769-1811) est un officier de l’armée espagnole. En 1810, il participe à l’insurrection contre la Couronne d’Espagne. Trahi, il est fusillé et décapité le 21 juin 1811.
In 2010, Mexico celebrates the bicentennial of its independence (September 16, 1810) and the centennial of the 1910 Revolution. On this occasion, the Casa de Moneda de Mexico is minting a series of bimetallic 5 Peso coins bearing the effigies of its great men. Ignacio José de Allende y Unzaga (1769-1811) was an officer in the Spanish army. In 1810, he took part in the insurrection against the Spanish Crown. Betrayed, he was shot and beheaded on June 21, 1811.
