Ces potins sont très rares. Bien que souvent associés ou confondus avec les potins suessions aux animaux affrontés, ils en sont très différents et plus variés.
Au droit, l’oiseau ressemble étrangement à la figuration de l’aigle sur bon nombre de fibules aviformes mérovingiennes !
Au revers, les deux animaux sont presque en symétrie parfaite par rapport au point central.
Le champ du revers est orné de globules, d’annelets et d’annelets pointés alors que celui du droit est seulement orné de quelques annelets pointés accompagnés d’un fin grènetis concentrique au listel périphérique.
