Commentary

Les chirurgiens dissimulent de leur mieux leur titre de barbiers qu'ils étaient officiellement forcés de porter car faisant partie de la même corporation. On ne mettait dans la légende que les initiales de cette qualité.
The surgeons did their best to conceal their title of barber, which they were officially forced to bear because they were part of the same corporation. Only the initials of this title were included in the legend.
