Commentary
A heavyweight example for this series. On this example, although it seems difficult to determine the die bonds on both the obverse and reverse, the lion is particularly detailed with a very fine treatment of the head. According to the Dicomon, the Auriol treasure contains 24 examples of this group (presented by Furtwängler as \\\"milesiac obols\\\"). Two other examples come from La Courtine and two others from the Bouches-du-Rhône region.
