Commentary
De nombreux jetons au nom de Marie-Adélaïde de Savoie furent frappés entre 1698 et son décès survenu en 1712. Ce jeton fait référence à la naissance de Louis de France, second duc de Bretagne, son frère Louis, premier duc de Bretagne étant décédé en 1705. Le phénix reposant sur le socle aux armes de Bretagne fait allusion à cette succession.
Many tokens bearing the name of Marie-Adélaïde de Savoie were struck between 1698 and her death in 1712. This token refers to the birth of Louis de France, second Duke of Brittany, his brother Louis, first Duke of Brittany having died in 1705. The phoenix resting on the base with the arms of Brittany alludes to this succession.
