Historical background

MARCIA

(113-112 BC)

The Marcia gens is one of the oldest and most important patrician and plebeian houses. Quintus Marcius Philippus, consul in 169 BC, was said to have concluded a treaty with Philip V (221-179 AC.), king of Macedonia - treaty "privatum hospitium", related by Livy (XLII, 42 ).
